NOT FOR USE WITH PACEMAKER OR DEFIBRILLATOR! (Otherwise, Omron is excellent)
CAUTION! This model is NOT meant to be used if you have an implanted pacemaker or defibrillator! Other than that, I’ve always had good experiences with Omron products and am fine with giving them a favorable review on that basis.Upon opening the package, the VERY FIRST LINE of instructions tells you not to use it if you have an implanted device. However, the product description online doesn’t mention anything about that. The problem is that the AFib detection technology in the Gold and Platinum devices results in inaccurate BP readings if a pacemaker or defibrillator is implanted. I returned my Gold (with no hassle) and ordered a Silver in its place, which reportedly does not have this same issue.

Perfect for larger armed individual!
Had been using a wrist cuff to follow my BP and, as a larger individual, my cardiologist informed me that a wrist cuff is ineffective at giving an accurate reading. Advised to purchase an arm wrap machine. Having larger upper arms, I feared this wouldn’t fit but I couldn’t be happier that it is more than sufficient to cover and get an accurate reading. I especially love the bluetooth connection of the results that I can easily show to my doctors at visits. I do suffer with Dr visit anxiety not wanting to hear that my weight it the reason for whatever I am there for and it always causes my BP to be slightly elevated. I now show my regular BP (including a fresh new one taken just before leaving the house for whatever Dr visit I’m going to) and they can see that it is indeed elevated in the office only. Haven’t been able to find the power supply cord as of yet so relying on batteries for now. Considering purchasing another machine to take to DR appts with me because this one has no problem getting a reading first shot where the rolling units at the Drs office usually takes 2-3 attempts because of larger size of upper arm.

Good machine with a GOTCHA!
This machine replaces a 10 year old unit. It gives consistent readings that speak to its accuracy. It is a more expensive choice on Amazon and I expected I would get a quality machine that would let me share my readings periodically with my doctor. This is not the case. It turns out that they require a $3. / month subscription just to be able to prepare a PDF file that I could send to my doctor. Full functionality for another 10 years would run the price of this up to nearly $500.In summary, a solid piece of hardware with a “nickle and dime gotcha” attached. The CEO should be spanked.I will be returning this to explore other options.***Edit*** I kept the machine around to see if there was a software work around using another app in combination with the Omron app. There was , but after two weeks the Omron Gold quit communicating with my IPhone 15. The device could not be revived. Luckily it was the last day of the return period.

Afib problem
I’m sure this is a great BP machine, BUT the ability to read Afib while a wonderful feature lacks one thing – when it reads Afib it doesn’t give a pressure reading. I have Afib and need to monitor my Blood pressure even if the condition can distort my readings a few points. I guess I’ll buy another cheap BP machine

Why did you pick this product vs others?:My old OMRON BP machine was probably 20 years old? anyway it finally stopped working (used in constantly per doctor orders). I decided to try and order a replacement, and was surprised at how expensive these products have become. So I hit the Budget button, and tried a highly reviewed ,high-quality color-screen replacement. That machine did not live up to the quality that I was used to, and so I finally got frustrated enough that I bought this OMRON machine. I selected it because of the Bluetooth compatibility to send data to my phone since my doctor is always asking me for it when I go in to see them. This is saving me time because I don’t have to type in the readings manually, and allows me in the app to add notes for each reading if I want to.Accuracy:I have calibrated the meter with the one that the Dr. uses and they match.Fit:I usually have to order a extra large cuff, but the one that came with this product by the fall works fine for me. Ease of use:Most important is that this machine does not constantly get an error message on reading for me. It is almost always picking up the first reading. It is occasionally wanting to do a new reading. I also find it most interesting that if I am not sitting still at the machine knows! It actually sounds a comment to me. You need to sit still, and stop goofing around (not a direct quote). Brightness:It would be nice if it was backlit, I opted not to spend the money for that option. Bear in mind, you will need to have a light on in the room to read the display.

Connects via bluetooth to my kardia mobile app (free) stores information in the app on my phone (andriod) or my ipad. Easy to use and setup. Works as I would expect it too. Like that it has a guest feature so my readings stay true to me.
