Excellent Lightweight Hydration for Oily Skin
As someone with oily and sensitive skin, finding a moisturizer that hydrates without adding shine is always a challenge. This CeraVe Oil Control Gel-Cream is fantastic! The gel-cream texture is incredibly light, absorbs instantly, and feels refreshing. It provides essential moisture without any heavy or greasy feeling, and it creates a lovely matte base for makeup.I definitely noticed a reduction in midday shine compared to other moisturizers I’ve used. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I wished the oil control effect lasted slightly longer into the evening. However, it’s a staple in my morning routine and a very effective, non-comedogenic option. I highly recommend it for daily use on oily or combination skin

Great moisturizer and doing wonders for my acne
These are just amazing for my face. They’re great moisturizers and they’re doing wonders for my acne. They absorb pretty quickly and they have a good smell. The price is great given that buying them here in Colombia is a lot more expensive.

Works great for oily skin, dislike pump style container.
This works great for my oily skin. I have especially oily skin on my nose, and after I started using this if I run my finger over my nose there’s barely any oil whereas before you could see the oil on my fingers afterwards. It’s very lightweight and goes on and spreads easily. The only thing I dislike about this product is the container. Once the pump tube gets empty it can’t reach any that’s still left over so I have to unscrew it and fling it up and down upside down to get the last of the product. It’s either that or cut open the bottle. I really wish they had a version of this in a small screw top tub version.

I really wanted to like this as I like other CeraVe products. I have very oily dehydrated skin and end up waking up like I washed my face in oil since coming off of hormonal birth control pills. I tried this last night and noticed my skin was oily within almost 30 minutes of applying and when I woke up this morning it hadn’t done anything to minimize the morning oiliness I wake up with. I’m going to continue giving it a try, but I don’t think this will be my personal holy grail unfortunately. Even if it doesn’t work for my oiliness, I like the texture and how it isn’t too greasy or sticky and can use it for other less-greasy areas.

Believe the great reviews, it really is that good. At 42 I’d always thought by now my skin would FINALLY stop being oily, but nope, genetics determined it’s for life apparently. I’m just as crazy oily at this age as ever. *sigh*Obviously, as we get older though, minimizing fine lines and wrinkles become more of a priority, so I don’t love using extremely drying or harsh products for the oil issue either.Normally I always carry with me oil blotting papers (which I highly recommend). I use those within 2 hours of doing my makeup and that’s even when I’ve already used an oil absorbing primer, etc. Then I continue to have to use blotting papers to touch up throughout the day, every couple of hours or so. I’m THAT freaking oily. It’s such a pain and a little embarrassing to get shiny so fast around others, as I’m sure many reading this can relate to, no doubt.Suffice it to say that I’ve tried tons, and I mean TONS, of oil absorbing products over the years. While some work a bit better than others (by the way, if you’re looking for a matte primer that does indeed control oil longer, I’d suggest trying Rimmel’s Stay Matte in the purple and white tube), but none of the primers or moisturizers or treatment creams I’ve tried ever really worked wonders for how quickly my face produces oil. So I’d basically given up on the hope that any product was going to really knock it out of the park for my particular needs.Enter CeraVe oil control moisturizer.I’m shocked. Totally shocked. The first time I put it on, I made sure my face was super clean and I applied nothing else but this product. I checked the time so I could gauge how long the matte effect lasted.For starters, this moisturizer feels amazing! Smooth and hydrating, your skin drinks it in immediately, and you’re left with an instant matte yet moisturized and baby-smooth feel that leaves you wanting to touch your face just to enjoy it. You don’t have to wait forever for it to dry and it plays beautifully under makeup without pilling.But the real shock occurred when I touched my face a little over two hours after application. AND IT WASSTILL DRY. No oil. My jaw dropped.No other products I’ve tried have done this for me.Needless to say, I’m going to be stockpiling this stuff!!!! It’s so perfect in nearly every way. I freaking love it. I knew CeraVe was a good brand, but wow, they nailed it with this one!

Great product! My skin was getting more oily as I’ve aged, I was recommended this and the face wash and it’s definitely helping. Doesn’t have much for scent which I’m ok with. Very lightweight though, doesn’t seem thick by any means. My skin is less oily and not breaking out.

Not for oily or normal to oily skin
It’s more oily formula than I had expected. Leaves an oily residue on my T zone area which is already oily to start.. “IMO OIL CONTROL in the product name is misleading.
