Excellent kid-friendly pulse oximeter that’s easy for parents and kids

The bright yellow color with tiger stripes makes it feel fun instead of medical, which helped my child accept it without hesitation. If you’ve ever tried using an adult pulse oximeter on a small finger, you’ll appreciate the smaller, more comfortable fit—my 8-year-old’s finger fits perfectly, and it works well for toddlers too when they’ll sit still long enough.Using it is simple: clip it on, press the button, and clear readings appear within seconds. The display is bright and easy to read, with large numbers and vibrant colors that make oxygen saturation and pulse rate easy to understand at a glance. There’s also an automatic shutoff after about 8 seconds if no signal is detected, which helps save battery life. Cute and accurate, but feels a bit flimsy
I bought this yellow pediatric oximeter for my kids, and while it’s very cute and the OLED display is bright and easy to read, I have some concerns about the build quality. The USB-C rechargeable design is a huge plus—no more hunting for tiny batteries—and it seems to provide consistent readings for my little ones.However, I noticed right away that the hinge is very loose. It doesn’t feel nearly as sturdy as the adult versions I’ve used. I’m honestly not sure how durable it’s going to be over time or how long it will last before that hinge potentially snaps, especially with daily use. It’s a great tool for peace of mind, but you’ll definitely want to handle it with extra care.

This pulse oximeter is marketed for infants and children, but I’ve found that it works just as well for adults with average sized fingers. It does work very nicely for children, the smaller size takes quicker and more accurate readings instead of trying to position small fingers into an adult sized pulse ox. The cartoon face can help children to feel slightly less anxious about having a strange object squeeze their finger. My 20 month old niece has frequent respiratory issues and this works nicely for her, when I can get her to sit still for long enough to get a reading. If it were a quicker read pulse ox, that would be a really helpful feature of a children’s pulse ox. I really appreciate the fact that this is usb c rechargeable, instead of having to change batteries often. It charges to full quickly, it has as a decent battery life and takes just a few minutes to charge up enough to be used if needed immediately. There is a shutoff feature that helps to save battery life, if no reading is detected it shuts off after 8 seconds. This can be slightly aggravating if you have a wiggly child and you can’t get a reading before the 8 second shutoff but overall, it is a positive feature. The digital screen is easy to read, with large numbers for oxygen saturation and heartrate / PRbpm. It’s a well made, fairly sturdy pulse oximeter for children and I recommend it.
